We have all read stories and heard reports on recalls of pet based products based on toxins, bacteria and many other health related issues. These alerts can be scary to a pet owner, especially when they don’t know where to turn for factual information (Dr. Google is NOT a reliable source!). Recalls – of which there are three types – are actions taken by a firm to remove a product from the market. Recalls may be conducted on a firm’s own initiative, by FDA request, or by FDA order under statutory authority.
To help ease your search burden, we wanted to provide you the official links to not only the FDA, but some popular pet brand companies websites. Hopefully, when you see the news reports or hear from a friend of a friend on Facebook, you can turn to these sites to ease your mind and find out what is actually being recalled.
